Fete!!

Hey,
Yesterday was our school fete. We usually have a production and a fete but this year we had some performances at the fete from each grade. It was called rock throughout the ages! Our class was the 1980's. We sung thriller, we will rock you and we are together! We had good make-up and costumes to suit all of the songs. It worked out really well and the audience seemed to enjoy it! At the fete we had rides and different games and lots of stalls. We had the combat challenge, mini golf, a junior jumping castle and a dunking machine. We got heaps of the teacher saturated, it was really funny!! We also had candy floss and popcorn and snow cones stalls. My friend Steph had 5 things of candy floss and her teeth went pink. There were also all different stalls and lucky cups filled with toys or lollies and chocolate. There was a trash and treasure and a silent auction plus a normal auction! It was really fun and my friend got a tattoo!! It was a great day and a good way to end the week!!

White Chocolate Mousse

Hello,
I am going to give you a recipe to a really good white chocolate mousse. The recipe has come out of our school book and most of the recipes on my blog are from this book. It is a great treat that you will have to try!  Click Here for the photos.

Ingredients
300g Of White Chocolate- Chopped
6 egg yolks
100g of caster sugar (plain white sugar will be fine)
 500ml of thickened cream
Fresh Berries (optional) to serve

Method
Melt chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Or on medium in the microwave in 1 minute bursts.
Place yolks and sugar in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer for 5 minutes and until thick and creamy. Beat cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Fold in chocolate mixture to egg yolks and stir until combined. In spoon fulls gradually add the cream stirring quickly to prevent lumps from forming. Once combined put into six large cups for a good serving.
Chill for four hours.
Serve with fresh berries. Remember if you'de like to see all the photos Click Here but the finished product is not there because everyone ate it as soon as it came out.

Camp

Hello!
About a week ago I arrived back home from a very tiring camp. We went down to the beach and stayed at the nearby scout camp! Although it was very fun everyone was tired out by the end of the 5 days. On Monday we got our stuff put on the bus and drove down to our camp. It took about 2 hours to get there.
When we did arrive we put up or tents, got out our bags and lay down our sleeping bags. That day we also went down to the beach just to see what it was like! It was great. Over the days we went to the beach and played some games down there. We went on a great long hike for a few hours and afterwards relaxed a bit down at the beach. We also visited a light house and explored the rock pools and right off the edge we found a seal!! The seaweed was everywhere and it was called Neptune necklace.
We also went to a rope course and had a time challenge and went to another place called challenge valley with all sorts of different activities to do outside! We were very lucky with the weather but one night there was a bit of a storm but everyone lasted through it! The toilets were awful because they were drop dunnies but the showers were great with nice hot water!
All the things we did were really fun and on the hike there was a shoe cleaning place because the people who own the area didn't want a certain fungus to be spread! We also crossed a tiger snake breeding ground and walked along the cliffs. It was fantastic considering we had missed out on our other camp but that made up for it.
We were going to go to another beach but that got flooded out earlier in the year and wasn't going to be a very pleasant trip! That was the first time out school has ever gone to that beach and we all enjoyed it.

Meringues

Hi,
The other day I made some easy meringues. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients.
4 Egg Whites
1 Cup Of Caster Or White Sugar.

Method.
Pre-heat oven to 100 degrees Celsius. Mix up egg whites in an electric mixer until soft peeks form. It will go bubbly at first but keep mixing until you can see the lines of the beaters or soft peeks are appearing continue mixing and very slowly add the sugar, a little at a time. If you add it too fast it won't work and it will make a mess. So just little bit a time sprinkling over the egg whites as they are mixing! When it is all mixed together get a spoon and just dollop the meringue onto a greased baking tray, you can also use baking paper. They don't have to be in any particular shape but you can do that if you like. I got about 12 or 13 dollops over the tray. Then put the meringues in the oven and check them about every five or ten minutes for 30 to 35 minutes or until very lightly golden. If they don't turn golden that's fine because you can eat them when they're white with a creamy bit in the centre. Once finished cooking turn of the oven and open the door slightly and leave them in there to cool completely! Once they are taken out they are delicious!
Hope you enjoy them!
Sorry I didn't get a picture to see how they turned out but they were eaten very quickly and I couldn't find my camera!!

Orienteering!

Hi,
Today I went down to the district orienteering. Our school has now won 18 out of 21 times. We are going really well and have just taken the trophy once again! I was one out of two people chosen to go up and take the trophy to represent our school. The are three groups in each year level starting from grade 3 to enter for boys and girls. Girls A, Girls B and Pairs, Boys A, Boys B and Pairs. I was in the Girls B along with most of my friends and I was lucky enough to win. It took me 37 minutes to complete the large course and the 9 other people behind me took from 40 minutes to an hour or so! There were lots of steep hills but I managed to make my way up them. We had a great day out and have the trophy for our 18th time!

Halloween Party

Hello!!
On Sunday I went to the    Halloween party. When I got there the costumes were  great. It's only my family who goes. Our Oma, aunties and uncles and our cousins. I dressed up as a witch and some funny comments and faces were shown towards me!! Especially by my sisters. When we arrived at the party there was a nice place set up, even eyeball lollies made out of marsh mellows, red gel and a black lolly in the middle. It was very spooky.

First off we played some games, one wasn't really a game but more of a contest for the best costume and I won! I dressed up as a witch and it took a long time to wipe off all the make-up from my face. Some of the other games were eating the doughnut off the string (with out your hands) and another one not using your hands, bobbing for apples, and ANOTHER one with out using your hands, there is icing sugar on a plate with jelly beans hidden inside and you have to use your mouth to dig them out and then eat them. We also played spooks, snakes, spiders. That was fun and then last we made some spiders out of pom-poms and pipe-cleaners. Afterwards we ad dinner, watched a movie, lit some sparklers and then it was time to go home!

On Monday we went to another party and went trick or treating. We went to heaps of houses and got lots of lollies. Some houses were decorated really well and had Halloween things everywhere and one house was really scary because the man dressed up as a vampire and his 'pet', or so he calls it opened the door very slowly with a monster costume on and just when you think, this isn't that scary he opens the door and shouts out at you!! It was pretty funny. We should have seen it coming because there were signs everywhere reading, Danger, Beware Of Monster and Enter At Own Risk!! Then we walked back down to the party and just played on the flying fox and special swings. I built a huge tower with my friends younger sister and it was really good and stable because it kept going on taller than me and was very close to touching the roof! When we left we had to walk back tot the car on the cold and dark night but we had a great time over the Halloween time.
I would also like to say my sister has a blog and not many people are interested, if you are interested the link is here

The Fox

Hi,
Lately a fox has been coming to our house and catching out ducks. We started off with 5 and have gone down to 2. It is very annoying and not very nice when you look out the window and see a fox sneaking around your house.
