Yesterday was our school fete. We usually have a production and a fete but this year we had some performances at the fete from each grade. It was called rock throughout the ages! Our class was the 1980's. We sung thriller, we will rock you and we are together! We had good make-up and costumes to suit all of the songs. It worked out really well and the audience seemed to enjoy it! At the fete we had rides and different games and lots of stalls. We had the combat challenge, mini golf, a junior jumping castle and a dunking machine. We got heaps of the teacher saturated, it was really funny!! We also had candy floss and popcorn and snow cones stalls. My friend Steph had 5 things of candy floss and her teeth went pink. There were also all different stalls and lucky cups filled with toys or lollies and chocolate. There was a trash and treasure and a silent auction plus a normal auction! It was really fun and my friend got a tattoo!! It was a great day and a good way to end the week!!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-69899729576564349932011-11-28T16:42:00.001+11:002011-11-28T16:53:30.903+11:00White Chocolate MousseHello,
About a week ago I arrived back home from a very tiring camp. We went down to the beach and stayed at the nearby scout camp! Although it was very fun everyone was tired out by the end of the 5 days. On Monday we got our stuff put on the bus and drove down to our camp. It took about 2 hours to get there.
When we did arrive we put up or tents, got out our bags and lay down our sleeping bags. That day we also went down to the beach just to see what it was like! It was great. Over the days we went to the beach and played some games down there. We went on a great long hike for a few hours and afterwards relaxed a bit down at the beach. We also visited a light house and explored the rock pools and right off the edge we found a seal!! The seaweed was everywhere and it was called Neptune necklace.
We also went to a rope course and had a time challenge and went to another place called challenge valley with all sorts of different activities to do outside! We were very lucky with the weather but one night there was a bit of a storm but everyone lasted through it! The toilets were awful because they were drop dunnies but the showers were great with nice hot water!
All the things we did were really fun and on the hike there was a shoe cleaning place because the people who own the area didn't want a certain fungus to be spread! We also crossed a tiger snake breeding ground and walked along the cliffs. It was fantastic considering we had missed out on our other camp but that made up for it.
We were going to go to another beach but that got flooded out earlier in the year and wasn't going to be a very pleasant trip! That was the first time out school has ever gone to that beach and we all enjoyed it. Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-28344364452346106242011-11-06T07:38:00.001+11:002011-11-06T07:40:24.766+11:00MeringuesHi,
The other day I made some easy meringues. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients.
4 Egg Whites
1 Cup Of Caster Or White Sugar.

Method.
Pre-heat oven to 100 degrees Celsius. Mix up egg whites in an electric mixer until soft peeks form. It will go bubbly at first but keep mixing until you can see the lines of the beaters or soft peeks are appearing continue mixing and very slowly add the sugar, a little at a time. If you add it too fast it won't work and it will make a mess. So just little bit a time sprinkling over the egg whites as they are mixing! When it is all mixed together get a spoon and just dollop the meringue onto a greased baking tray, you can also use baking paper. They don't have to be in any particular shape but you can do that if you like. I got about 12 or 13 dollops over the tray. Then put the meringues in the oven and check them about every five or ten minutes for 30 to 35 minutes or until very lightly golden. If they don't turn golden that's fine because you can eat them when they're white with a creamy bit in the centre. Once finished cooking turn of the oven and open the door slightly and leave them in there to cool completely! Once they are taken out they are delicious!
Hope you enjoy them!
Sorry I didn't get a picture to see how they turned out but they were eaten very quickly and I couldn't find my camera!!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-7462857412794685202011-11-04T16:00:00.001+11:002011-11-04T16:00:42.991+11:00Orienteering!Hi,
Today I went down to the district orienteering. Our school has now won 18 out of 21 times. We are going really well and have just taken the trophy once again! I was one out of two people chosen to go up and take the trophy to represent our school. The are three groups in each year level starting from grade 3 to enter for boys and girls. Girls A, Girls B and Pairs, Boys A, Boys B and Pairs. I was in the Girls B along with most of my friends and I was lucky enough to win. It took me 37 minutes to complete the large course and the 9 other people behind me took from 40 minutes to an hour or so! There were lots of steep hills but I managed to make my way up them. We had a great day out and have the trophy for our 18th time!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-3920363395410905492011-10-30T07:17:00.000+11:002011-11-01T15:39:43.102+11:00Halloween PartyHello!!
On Sunday I went to the Halloween party. When I got there the costumes were great. It's only my family who goes. Our Oma, aunties and uncles and our cousins. I dressed up as a witch and some funny comments and faces were shown towards me!! Especially by my sisters. When we arrived at the party there was a nice place set up, even eyeball lollies made out of marsh mellows, red gel and a black lolly in the middle. It was very spooky.
I dressed up as a witch and it took a long time to wipe off all the make-up from my face. Some of the other games were eating the doughnut off the string (with out your hands) and another one not using your hands, bobbing for apples, and ANOTHER one with out using your hands, there is icing sugar on a plate with jelly beans hidden inside and you have to use your mouth to dig them out and then eat them. We also played spooks, snakes, spiders. That was fun and then last we made some spiders out of pom-poms and pipe-cleaners. Afterwards we ad dinner, watched a movie, lit some sparklers and then it was time to go home!
On Monday we went to another party and went trick or treating. We went to heaps of houses and got lots of lollies. Some houses were decorated really well and had Halloween things everywhere and one house was really scary because the man dressed up as a vampire and his 'pet', or so he calls it opened the door very slowly with a monster costume on and just when you think, this isn't that scary he opens the door and shouts out at you!! It was pretty funny. We should have seen it coming because there were signs everywhere reading, Danger, Beware Of Monster and Enter At Own Risk!! Then we walked back down to the party and just played on the flying fox and special swings. I built a huge tower with my friends younger sister and it was really good and stable because it kept going on taller than me and was very close to touching the roof! When we left we had to walk back tot the car on the cold and dark night but we had a great time over the Halloween time.
I will be going with a few of my friends down the road. I will be dressing up as nothing in particular but having a French braid up the back of my hair tied in a bun and having a "spider" in my hair. As you may remember me saying about my districts athletics and moving up to the next level, I did, if you haven't read it you may want to see it first and then come back to this. Click Here To Go To Link. Anyway I went down and it was great, hot weather but really fun. I caught the bus down there and arrived just on time. My event was second of the day at 9:45, it didn't go for too long but I was in triple jump and there were alot if girls also competing against me. I cam 4th out of about 20 girls. You would only move on to the next level if you came 1st or 2nd, and I didn't but some of my friends from the other school did. There was a canteen there and I got some things, it was a very hot day. I looked at a tambourine because it would be reasonably easy and able to be decorated, a pan flute because it has a good sound and would be fun to make and then the two made up ones. First was based on a set of newton balls which is a frame with balls hanging, you pull the end and the energy travels through the rest and causes the end one to glide through the air and back down knocking the last one over and over again. So I thought if I extended the frames and hung keys of pipe to make chimes on either end, that when you pull the newton balls it would hit the chimes and make a noise. The second made up one, was to attach bells on a pan flute so you could still blow through it and also jiggle it around like a tambourine! In the end I chose a tambourine!
Well that was a busy time. I have had two sleepovers in a row. First was with my grandma, and then with my friend. At my grandma's house I had fun and we had ravioli for dinner. The next day we went shopping for our Christmas presents, even though it's a little early! We thought that before all the super Christmastime presents came in we would go and chose our presents now and at Christmas we would get them! Then that day I went to my friends house and we watched some movies, we watched, Mean Girls 2 which was funny and Yours, Mine and Ours which was also funny. It was about 2 people a, who wanted to get married and each one had kids. The girl had 10 and the man had 8. They ended up with 18 fighting kids. They fought so much to break up their new parents but as soon as the Dad needs to leave for a military ship they decide they should be a family and the dad leaves his ship to come home! The day after we went down and played outside and then walked around the local street! Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-81897466722836022852011-09-29T17:38:00.001+10:002011-09-30T07:42:34.956+10:00Upsetting News.Hello everyone,
I have a bit of bad news that I found out at around 4:30 on the 29/9/2011. As I said in my storm post we were visiting the hospital to see our grandpa, we found out today that he was no longer with us. The doctors didn't even expect him to be alive yesterday but he was as well as today but i don't think he felt too good. He wasn't really able to talk and he only said help and muttered words from his original language, German. My Oma (German for grandma) is going to stay the night and she isn't too happy. It's all very sad but I am happy that he doesn't have to live the rest of his life being sick and ill. I guess everyone has to come to the end and that was his time.Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-27596018012514742422011-09-29T08:56:00.000+10:002011-09-29T08:57:48.007+10:00StormsWHOA!
Last night was the worst storm I have ever been in. Usually I am hearing about flood warnings and what to do and what not to, but this time I was in it. We were driving to the hospital to visit our grandpa who isn't doing to well and a storm came crashing down, we knew it would happen because it was pouring before we left and the only reason we went out in the flash flooding was because dad was prepared with a our wheel drive. If we had of had one of the smaller cars we would be staying inside. Before we were getting ready to leave the power kept going off and lightning strikes shot through parts of our house through the sky lights. Our cat was underneath a sky light when the crashing thunder and lighting struck, she looked up to see what was going on and ran out of that spot immediately. It was horrifying. We were literally driving through sort of a river about half a metre to a metre high. On the way home my dad had taken a different car to mum seeing as she was already at the hospital, dad and my sisters told us that they had almost gone off the road due to all this water. Mum and I were going to turn off a road when we found our selves stuck in extremely high water. It was hard but we managed to turn around and take a different route. The same thing happened on a bridge and if we got stuck there was only one way of getting out, pushing, but on both roads leading off the bridge they were steep and uphill. Luckily we got through. Throughout the entire drive water was constantly being bushed off the road from the tyres and onto the footpaths, grass and especially all over the car. When we got out to have dinner there were floods everywhere, and wearing my good open shoes didn't end well. I was saturated from just below my knees down. It was just bucketing down rain causing flash flooding all over the state. Sorry I couldn't get any pics, the camera would have probably been broken in that weather!!! It wasn't the best night out!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-24769983656794813162011-09-28T09:22:00.001+10:002011-09-28T09:24:52.793+10:00S.J YoungHello,
Yesterday my family drove to the new high school I will be going to next year. As I am familiar with the school because I was there in grade prep and 1 I new a little bit about the uniform. So we were having the fitting to make sure everything was right and see what I got to wear. The uniform was very big with all different clothes. I Summer and Sport because we would do the Winter next term. For the Summer there was just a dress plus the other uniform you wear all year round which is ankle socks, the jumper and blazer. The sport uniform was very simple, shorts, tee-shirt and a rugby jumper. I thought the uniform was pretty good and I really liked it! It was a great day and fun to see what I would be wearing next year. Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-28788646731268214522011-09-28T07:19:00.003+10:002011-09-28T07:20:05.393+10:00Show DayHello Everyone,
A few weeks ago my school was doing some sport. We did Athletics as well as a softball day. They were both on separate days. First up was athletics, we caught the bus down to the stadium type thing!!! There were all different events such as jumps, high jump, long jump, triple jump and hurdles. Track events- 100m sprint, 200m, 800 and the furthest, 1500m. The field events were discuss and shot-put. Plus a relay which was held at the end. I was in a relay, high jump, triple jump and 200m. I got =4th in high jump! 5th in 200m, 5th in the relay and 1st in triple jump. Because I came 1st I move onto the zones which are in October. That is when I compete against all the different areas who came first in triple jump Quite a few people from my school got in zones and will be catching the bus there.
Softball- We caught the bus just like athletics to the field. The mixed team and the girls team split up and went off to their games. The girls won their first game lost the second and third and lost but not by far to the best team in the area. There is no more competing for another level and was just too have fun. I heard the boys won 3 and lost 1. That was a better day for them. Softball is a bit like base ball and is very fun. During the day we got hot chips and lots of lollies! In both sporting events we had a great day out. I would also like to thank S.J Young for passing on a blog award. THANK-YOU!!!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-71649382326192474282011-08-21T10:47:00.000+10:002011-08-21T10:47:47.992+10:00Alohamora

Hello,

Just yesterday I went down the road to my sisters friends house to find a bunch of 9 &10 year old girls running a cafe called Alohamora. I decided to join in. There were brownies, meringues, choc-chip muffins and toffee! Only 4 different sweets plus some cordial made something like $40. The best part was that we could pay her dad back the money for change and got even more! We would also be donating all money to charity for Cystic Fibrosis and MS. Hopefully we can actually get it there! We chose those 2 causes because people we know have those problems. We thought we could help out by donating some money. The name was decided by one of my sisters friends for the stall Alohamora, it is a spell in Harry Potter, a spell to open a door as in open the door and walk into out cafe, even though it is out doors!! We were though for 3 hours from 12:30 to about 3 or 3:30 so maybe only 2 and a half but we still got a lot of customers and sold things for a very good price!

As you may have read from my "Holidays" post you would know that I went to a gold mine. I have now gone again with my school and to the discovery centre, in the local area! First the 5/6 unit had to be at the train station by 8:00am! Then we would catch the train at 8:12 to the gold mine. When we got there we travelled 61m below the surface and started to explore. We went down an elevator which was great and looked all around and learnt lots of interesting facts. We had split up into 3 groups so it was easy to get down safely and not be all crammed into the small tunnel underground. By small I mean width! We found out that in that same mine they held 8 different weddings but everyone had to wear the hard hats until they got into the right room! Then we went down to the Discovery Centre. It was very interesting and there were heaps of different things you could do. There was a theramin which makes different sounds depending on how you use your hands and you can even play different songs using it by just waving your hands in the air! There was also a tube that when you spoke into echoed your voice. A box with mirrors and a plate of fruit making it look very effective if someone put there head in a hole where the plate of food is circling around. There was also a thing where you sat on a chair with a rope and got to pull your self up and a big xylophone that when you stepped on a key it would make the noise come out a long metal tube. HEAPS of others. Then there was the vertical slide, you had to hold onto a bar and then be dropped down and slide for a while. We had to wear funny suits that were too big and extremely slippery! Then we caught the train back to the station and were picked up by our parents!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-20666555921478628272011-08-10T08:14:00.003+10:002011-08-13T17:33:57.375+10:00Last SundayHello,
As you can see I sent a post on Sunday but that was early in the morning so now I am going to write about what we did on the afternoon. So after we collected Elizabeth from the cubs camp. We got in the car and went to the market. I got some fruit drops which are hard boiled lollies and they are delicious. We also got some special donuts that are nice and warm with cinnamon and sugar. We looked around for the magic man that is usually there but unfortunately we couldn't find him. We did find some special things that you put over a candle and they melt and smell nice. We walked around for along time and there was lots of different things to look at.
When we went home we relaxed for the rest of the day!Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3585350625533885930.post-50364716202429730232011-08-07T09:05:00.003+10:002011-08-13T17:33:57.401+10:00Netball-FINAL DAY!!Hello,
Yesterday was a big day (For Netball). At first we got all ready in the morning so we could be at netball my 11:00 for training but when we got there we found out that netball actually started at 12:00, a whole hour to wait. Whilst we were waiting we went to the park and had a snack. Then we got back to netball and did some training but our coaches didn't show up for the whole game! So the other teams coach helped. Seeing as we were playing later she could stay around to help. We didn't have the best game like last year as we won our last game but, we did get 1 to like 15!! But I was pretty happy because I shot that 1 goal!! But the other team was very good!! After the game we had an awards ceremony and got a medal, chocolate and soft drink!! But in a few weeks we are having a day where an Australian netball team is coming to sign autographs and give out the best and fairest awards!! That will be pretty cool and the team will also be answering questions and hanging out with all of us. But not the whole team is coming, I think it's just a few players. That will be happening in a few weeks to celebrate the 30th anniversary of our netball suburb!! After netball on Saturday we went to a house and mum and dad went and looked at some antiques for sale and the whole house was pretty much full of them!! Then we went home and relaxed a bit for the rest of the day. Whilst our weekend was going my sister Elizabeth had been at camp the whole time and will be coming home tomorrow.Georgia!http://www.blogger.com/profile/14844816533225863546noreply@blogger.com1
