The Fox

Hi,
Lately a fox has been coming to our house and catching out ducks. We started off with 5 and have gone down to 2. It is very annoying and not very nice when you look out the window and see a fox sneaking around your house. 

Show Day

Hello Everyone,
Last Friday, last Friday of the school term it was the annual show day. It started off with the pet parade. Everyone brings in a dog, a bird, a cat, a sheep, a horse etc.!! Then they would walk around the schools oval showing off and playing t=with their animals. If you don't have a pet or don't want to bring one (like me) you can bring a toy. I brought a koala puppet! It was the only thing       I could find in a rush!! 

After that which goes for half and hour or so we move onto the exhibits. The hole school had been working on something to do with our theme. Country/Farms. Grades Prep-4 were working on 2D art such as drawings. The grade 5's and 6's get to create 3D pieces.  

Then it was optional whether you put in a cake or a flower arrangement. The cakes were judged on the decorating. We even had the CWA (Country Women's Association) come in and judge all of our work as well as all of the students! 

Next it was time to go inside, our class just relaxed and packed up quickly for the rest of the term. We didn't do much but sit down and have a chat with our friends. After that it was play time. That's just like any other day and was pretty fun! Next the years 5 and 6 went over the road to a block of land our school owns. We played games all earning points leading up to the final prize! 1st up was the wheel barrow races, my team did quite well, as other teams had a few tumbles!! It was then time for the egg and spoon races or spoon and tennis ball races! We dropped a few but hid it from the people watching. That was it and then it was lunch.

This is they best part of the day. We could buy everything, there were stalls set up all over the netball court with hot pies and sausage rolls. Hot dogs and sausages. Cordial, dim sims and ice-cream. The lolly stall, full of delicious treats. 
Whilst it was still last play most of the school joined in on a big game of soccer. It was 5 and 6 v the rest of the school. Because we've had more experience and we kick harder a few kids ended up with some injuries but the game still went on. The final score was 3-1 but we only had about 25 minutes to play! Then we all went inside and relaxed again until it was time to go home at 2:30.

Horses

Hi,



Today I went to my Oma’s house. In the afternoon a man called Ian came around to check up on his horses; Appy, Mystique & Cody. Appy is a small, lazy Appaloosa. Mystique is a large wild horse and Cody is a very large tamed horse.


I got to ride Appy first and I got to trot and canter, it was really fun because she was very frisky!! Then I rode Cody on the back of him when Ian was riding!! I was on a gate and we had to link arms and I had to try and jump on the back of him, it was a bit hard but I did it.


We started to trot down the driveway and then we did a slow canter.

Beautiful Birds

The other day we had many visitors come to our house. Those visitors were some beautiful birds. We live in the country so we see many everyday but yesterday we some millions. We saw cockatoos, Rozella's, kookaburras, ducks and tons more. I got some great photos, especially of the cockatoos! They're are all so beautiful.

We don't usually see so many birds and if we did they are usually very hard to get a photo but they were so tamed even in the wild they didn't care if we came close. I didn't even use the zoom tool on my camera or on the computer and it only flew away after about 5 minutes.

The kookaburra was pretty hard to get a photo of not going near people very much. The kookaburra is on top of my mums green house which I helped her build. The kookaburras are sometimes my alarm clock in the morning because they are so loud.

We also get Rozella's on our bird house alot but they usually fly away if we get close so I was pretty lucky to get this picture. Again I didn't even have to zoom in.

We also have pet ducks so they were easy to get a photo of. We also have 3 other white ducks.
